Thank you Nedra. Living authentically enhances my work as a therapist. It is immensely gratifying to support clients to live their best life as I work to do the same.
As a fellow mental health professional, I feel this deeply. I remember hearing once, “Don’t ask/encourage a client to do something you’re not willing to do yourself” and I really took that to heart.
A few months ago, I experienced a major failure in my life. Something I had never experienced before. I have heard so many people give advise on how to deal with failure gracefully, I also believed in the same approach. But I did stumble for a bit. After a couple days of feeling like my life is falling apart, I decided to build on my awareness. I went back and read my own newsletters. The reason I started my newsletter was to look back at my writings and be inspired that no matter how difficult life is, I will be okay. Sometimes, we can be the best teacher to ourselves.
This hits. Thank you, Nedra. I'm finding that, as my desire to grow and serve expands, life is becoming a huge mirror for me that reveals where I'm out of alignment. Not in a negative way, but definitely with clarity. It's all part of transforming insights and what we say into real, earned and embodied wisdom. Thank you!
Immediately getting a copy of that book! Loved this, Nedra! A great reminder that great work as a therapist comes from a strong foundation of being engaged in our own work.
Mmm.
Great read. Thank you. 🙏🏿

This is a wonderful message and a much needed reminder to carry out my intentions.
