Thank you for the great recommendation to “It’s Nice That.” I am personally overcoming creative grief. I never knew there was a formal name for it or a publication about it.

The article on creative grief - thank you for that! Though I wish they’d included how the same feelings can apply to almost any project which demands a substantial pouring-in of energy and commitment and a certain sense of self…

Love this message. It reminds me of the perspective that Alua Arthur takes in her book, “Briefly Perfectly Human” - which I highly recommend!

Love the idea of “while I live” Pinterest board. It’s so key that we LIVE our lives every single moment because we truly only have the moment we’re in.

Very timely as I just lost my third grandparent yesterday. Definitely makes you think about your own morality and that of your parents.

Thanks for the great reminders. I had a few friends who died unexpectedly as young adults and I think that gave me the attitude of making the most of life and going for what I want, especially adventures and trying new things. I’d rather make a mistake than look back with regret. I think an awareness of our own mortality also helps me with setting boundaries - I’m not going to bust my gut on mundane tasks rather than things I’m passionate about - at the end of the day, if I got hit by a bus tomorrow (heaven forbid!) my employers would manage just fine without me, so it’s important that I maintain my work-life balance and don’t get totally absorbed in ticking off the never-ending work to do list 😆

Nedra! Thank you for this perspective. "While I live" - intentionality - I will add these to my tool box for life! I sometimes let the people around me influence my choices, my movement forward or my lethargy. But I will choose life and this blog gave me more inspiration.

Timely as always!! My wife and I are facing the death of our beloved dog who was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. We have an uncertain amount of time left with her, though we know her death is imminent. The swell of anticipatory grief comes and goes. Facing this has brought up a lot of issues around death.

Aside from this pending loss, I find myself thinking of death a lot. I’m 66 and my body is starting to tell me it’s not going to live forever. This has shown me my mortality more than anything. I have to make myself stop wondering when and how I will die and focus on living. Your reframe helps me do this. Thank you as always!

This has really inspired me. I know my life could be cut short and I'm spending the rest of my days in pain. But you've given me some wonderful ideas to work on. Life is for living not waiting for the end to come. Thank you so much.

Great article! Im traveling ,loving on everyone, living my life in peace, I'm healing my emotional wounds, and focusing on how my life and lifestyle will benefit other's, taking up hobby classes i enjoy, and eliminating what causes me frustration, while focusing on the upcoming ending of my year long happiness self discovery project and remaining in the things that make me happy and not the things that caused my unhappiness, then focusing on the future leading to peace in paradise. While I'm facing my illness leading towards death I've learned that while it is an enemy emanating from sin and imperfections I've learned to live with the thought of positivity and remembering men don't have the answer's for my ailment however I know that even if I die I still have the mindset that eternity of life is embedded because we are meant to live forever in peaceful conditions. But if I were to pass then I'd no longer be suffering or conscience of anything.
