Thank you Nedra. As usual, such useful and insightful information. What resonated with me the most was how you surrender to rest and take yourself to bed. In a culture where there is such emphasis on productivity, or in doing versus being, pausing and giving yourself the gift of rest is the antidote for the occasional bad day. I too find comfort in old sitcoms. One of many favorites is the Bob Newhart show. Pardon the delayed comment as I just returned from 2 weeks in Ghana and am getting caught up with reading Nedra Nuggets.

Oftentimes, we put too much pressure on ourselves to live every day with perfection. No person in the world can experience perfect days all the time. But awareness goes a long way. Knowing yourself better never disappoints. We're all figuring out life as we go and it's okay to slow down every once in a while to face life.

What a beautiful reminder!!

Sometimes we have a season of going inward and not doing much. It can feel like a season of bad days because shit hits the fan and we’re just trying to cope from one minute to the next. It’s ok to settle into that and feel everything as it’s happening. Eventually we will come out of it, but in the moment it feels like it’ll last forever 🙏🏽

This was very helpful! Bad days are inevitable, but using tools to manage them is a straight up POWER move!

Also, I read The Perfect Marriage recently and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thank you for this!

Too bad I can't just go to sleep whenever, unless it's already evening and I can go for a nap, but I do find that TV shows feel like a friend to me. They become familiar and comfort me throughout a bad day. I've recently discovered there are many spinoffs to the original The Walking Dead so I picked the second one up and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Have a lovely day, Nedra!

The earliest I go to bed is after my kids, around 9:00p. The best I can do before then is minimal conversation.
